Allan Kastberg, Paragon Blue

 It´s with great grief, we have received information about Allan`s sudden death. Allan have through many years bin a keen breeder, exhibitor and member of the board in the Danish Russian Blue Club. He was always helpful and pleasant if we have use for advice and guidance. As breeder it succeed Allan to get the first  Danish Russian Blue Junior Winner in 2007 and no less than 2 Scandinavian Winners, also in 2007, after many years persistent breeding. This was the highlight in his many years work as breeder. We are a lot of people who will miss him as friend, committee member and on shows in the future, in Denmark as well in foreign countries.

We shall remember his good spirits, but as well, his big commitment in Russian Blue breeding work.

 Honour be his memory.

Two Russian Blue cats awarded SW07

For the first time not only one but two Danish Russian Blues managed to become the first Danish Russian Blues to become Best-in-Show at the yearly Scandinavian Winners Show in Örebro, Sweden.

Among 180 short haired cats SW07 EC Silvergrey Paragon Blue Fiver DSM and SW07 Paragon Blue Virtue Lunar Lullaby JW won the classes best fertile male and best fertile female and were awarded with the title SW07. The competition from the best Scandinavian cats was hard but at the end they secured the victory for Denmark. See more photos at www.sw07.nerk.se

Russian Blues top Felis Danica's list 2006/2007

For the second year in a row

EC Silvergrey Paragon Blue Fiver, DSM

managed to obtain so outstanding show results that he can be found on Felis Danica's Toplist for fertile cats for 2006/2007. Last year he made it to no. 7 but this year he made it even better and reached no. 1. No other Russian Blue before Fiver has ever been on this list that includes all Danish owned cats of all breeds. Among his show results for the period May 1, 2006 to April 30, 2007 are 1 x Best-of-Best No. 1, 2 x Best-of-Best No. 2, 9 x Best-in-Show and no less than 19 nominations.

Also Paragon Blue Virtue Lunar Lullaby, JW managed to reach top 2 on the list of Felis Danica for kittens for 2006/2007. She is the first Danish bred Russian Blue ever to reach this list and her show results speak for themselves with no less than 12 Best-in-Shows and 16 nominations out of the 17 shows she has attended.

Denmark gets if first Russian Blue DSM title

At the international cat show in Herlev, Denmark March 11, 2007 EC Silvergrey Paragon Blue Fiver managed to obtain the title DSM - Destinguished Show Merit - even a month before he can celebrate his 3rd birthday. This means that he has been awarded at least 10 Best-in-Shows in a period of minimum 2 years and one day. Actually it was his BIS no. 18, but in order to comply with the FIFe rule he had to wait to years before he could obtain his DSM title. He got his first BIS also in Herlev March 6, 2005 so it was actually the very first oppurtunity for him to obtain the title. Thus he is the first Danish Russian Blue to become DSM and at the same time he is the highest awarded Russian Blue in Denmark of all times with 18 Best-in-Shows, thereof 3 times Best-of-Best no. 2 and one Best-of-Best no. 1. Big congratulation to Fiver and his owner Allan Kastberg.

EC Silvergrey Paragon Blue Fiver DSM

First Danish Russian Blue Junior Winner.

At the recent show in Flensburg, Germany on December 3 our female kitten Paragon Blue Virtue Lunar Lullaby JW managed to achieve the title Junior Winner. This means that she has been awarded no less than 5 times Best-in-Show in the age of 3 to 10 months. First of all it is remarkable that a Danish Russian Blue finally manages to obtain this title, but even more impressive is it because these results were made over a period of no more than 6 weeks, where most other kittens use the total time limit of 7 months to obtain these 5 times Best-in-Show. Luna is the result after a mating between EC Silvergrey Paragon Blue Fiver and IC A Flashpaw's All That Jazz.

Paragon Blue Virtue Lunar

Russian Blue went Best-of-Best No. 1

Finally a Danish owned Russian Blue cat went Best-of-Best No. 1 as the first one ever. EC Silvergrey Paragon Blue Fiver achieved the award at an international cat show in Prague, Sunday February 18, 2007. The judges who eventually voted for him as their best fertile overall cat at the show were Dietmar Sagurski from Germany, Ing. Buhimir Mahelka, Marie Rihova, Eric Reijers all from Czech Republic and at least but certainly not at last our own Mrs. Hanne Sofie Sneum.
